Refugio J. Neumeyer - Challhuaco Valley
Just 18 km from San Carlos
de Bariloche, on the southeast, it is located CAB's
mountain hut dr. Juan Neumeyer. The mountain hut it is
situated in the middle of the Andean forest from where start
8 different trekking and hiking. There is a wide variety of
trail levels so everybody may fully enjoy nature, from families
with children to elder people. Some of the trails are panoramic
view points, other are botanic interpretation trails. The
mountain hut is open all year round. It is a unique
ecosystem where lives an endemic frog specie (only place
in the world) athelognathus Nitoi.
Services and amenities: log stove heating, electricity,
kitchen with cooking utensils for 60 people, WC and bathrooms
for men and ladies with hot water and showers, dormitories
for 45 people (with sheet and blankets if you prefer). Table
games, musical instruments, library. Also available chairs,
tables, kitchen and barbecue grill if you prefer to have your
own pic nic. The mountain hut offers restaurant services for
lunch, dinner, breakfast and branches, also afternoon tea
service.
Activities: trekking, botanic hiking, mountain
biking, climbing. 8 different trails thaty start from the
mountain hut from 20 minutes to 5 hours long treks. We also
have tailor-made programs
In winter season: snowshoeing, winter trekking, cross
country skiing, snowboarding, back country skiing, sledgeing.
